Basically, Aanch is a love story set in the background of hatred, it draws its inspiration from the real incidents that still happen in some parts of rural Uttar Pradesh. Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal play the two village heads that are constantly at loggerheads with each other. The two rival heads hate each other so intensly that their hatred and inflated egos ruin the lives of those who are around them. Suchindra Bali and Sharbani Mukherjee play the romantic lead.
