Subir Kumar was the top most singer of the city. His popularity kept him busy throught out. Once he had go to a village to attend a function on a personal request of his Dourga-Mousi, who was like a mother to him. There he was attracted by the song of village girl, Uma. The only daughter of a retired school teacher. An intimacy grew between them and ended in marriage. Subir and Uma gave pleasant surprise to Chandroo, Subir's freind, philosopher and guide,who arranged a lavish marriage reception. There they sang together and Uma's talent was admired even by great music Stalwart Brajeshwar Ray. Subir and Uma started singing together and soon became more popular than her husband.
