When his only sister and her husband die in an air crash, Rahul is forced to stop his studies to take care of her three young children and his brother-in-laws garment factory. To begin with the children almost drive him crazy when they play all sorts of tricks on him when he is trying to be a strict guardian. One day the children sneak out of the house, when they had been locked in as a punishment by Rahul, and go to the fair and there they meet Vaijayanti. She is the daughter of a south Indian business tycoon, who has ran away from home because her father insistes that she marry a man, whom she considers to be a complete nincompoop, but whom her father thinks is a genius.
The children and Vaijayanti hit it off at once, and since Vaijayanti has not told them who she is, the children bring her home thinking that they are sheltering a girl in distress. However they are too scared to tell Rahul about her, so for a while they have to hide her. But finally he discovers her in the house, and he believes her sob story. ANd being that the children like her, Rahul engages her as their governess. The inevitable happens and Rahul and Vaijayanti fall in love. BUT the daughter of the businessman in which Rahul's company is in debt, Loves Rahul. And her father has bargained with Rahul that either he marry his daughter or suffer the wrath of a lethal businessman. Rahul is caught between saving the factory for the sake of the children-OR- sacraficing his love for Vaijayanti.
