WHAT IS LIFE? A question that everyone tries to answer. Aatish is a movie that takes you through the hardships of life and the extremes that you have to go through to survive. As a little boy, Baba(Sanjay Dutt) starts learning what life is really about. He commits his first murder to save his mother’s dignity. After that he thinks that the only way to earn money is to do it in a bad way but he doesn’t want the money for himself, he wants it for his mother and his brother. Baba and his best friend Nawab(Aditya Pancholi) start working for Uncle(Ajit) and do his dirty work for him. Meanwhile, Baba’s little brother Avinash(Atul Agnihotri) is going to school and is in love with Pooja(Karishma Kapoor). Baba then unexpectedly falls in love with Nisha(Raveena Tandon) and his little brother becomes a police officer. Avinash doesn’t like his brother’s job because its against the law. Will Baba quit his life long job for his brother? Will Nisha still love Baba after she finds out his real nature? What is life? A question that no one can answer...
