Synopsis
The double helix (situation) is a cliché the world a literature and entertainment never seem to tire off. Yes "Abhay" is yet another dual role played by Kamal Hassan, with an astounding record of having made success of all the dual role films he played in (nearly 20 in all). "ABHAY" is a novel written by Kamal Hassan many years ago is a precursos of Thomas Hariss "Silence of the Lambs". Thank goodness or else our well informed scribes would have screamed plagarism. A thriller set in Dehli. The season is winter. Major Vijay Kumar of N.S.G. is all set to mary his news caster girlfriend Tejaswani. Vijay Kumar has a demented brother Abhay who has been an inmate of a few mental asylums for the past 22 years. Abhay went in for matricide when he was 12. Many attempts made by the family, requesting the release of the patient were turned down by the Asylum authorities since they thought Abhay was unfit for the social cirus & probably dangerous. "His paranoid schizophrenia & psychopathic attitude is bound to to wreck havoc to his mind & society" the court says…and then Vijay& Tejaswani make the grave mistake of going to the asylum to meet his twin brother to say sorry for not being able to get him out. Vijay & Tejaswani do not know that they are responsible for unleashing hell in Dehli & in their own lives. Abhay, like his name is fearless. A mind with no draping of etiqette or civic behaviour. The human mind at its most naked form. Imagine!!! We have and hope to live up to your expectations.
